You know how I always complain about how there’s nothing to do in PE when I’m there (save going to the boardwalk again…and the beach again)? Well, looks like the right people have been listening.
Dear Eastern Capers, I give you The Nelson Mandela Bay Food, Cheese, and Wine Festival.
From 29th March to 1st April 2012 at the DF Malherbe School grounds in Walmer Park.
I’m already FOMO’ing as we speak.
I’ve tasted Frans van Eeden‘s potjiekos, so if you’re entering the competition, you better really know your potjie! And I’ve tasted Michelle van Eeden‘s wines…the lady knows her stuff! Trust me!
Oh, man…anyone wanna sponsor me a plane tickets so I can go? Pleeeeease????
Ok, fine. But if you’re in and around the PE area, make sure you get yourself there.
2 things:
1. On average, I work from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday…which makes it impossible to get to stores during the week. And on the weekends I’m usually busy with errands and grocery shopping and trying to fit in family and friends and and and…
2. I am not a fan of shopping malls – too crowded – but I am a huge fan of retail therapy, especially SHOES!

I love reading. I don’t do it as often as I should, but I love getting lost in a story, fiction or non-fiction…I love reading people’s stories. I prefer story books, whether you are telling me someone else’s story or your own. I don’t so much like self-help books or teaching books.
Anyway, my top 3 books: (click on pic to find out more about the book)
(first 44 pages of blue like jazz available to read online)
Some authors I really dig:
Stephen King (IT, Carrie, The Shining, etc - fiction, horror)
John Grisham (An Innocent Man, The Client, The Firm, The Pelican Brief, etc - fiction, law)
Jeff Lucas (Lucas out Loud, Lucas on Life, How not to pray, Grace choices) - humour, christianity

Shoes. Shoes. Shoes.
I’m such a girl when it comes to shoes. I love clothes, but I can control myself when it comes to shopping. My mom is always on my case about the fact that I only buy a couple of things at a time and wear them till they are unwearable…but when it comes to shoes, all self-control goes out the door.
My favorite lables:
Sigh
Ok, here’s one more link to lust over…you’re welcome

I’m a fan of pretty things. I love beautiful photography and designs.
Here are few I found online
Definitely check out the portrait of a nation project. It’s pretty cool. It’s portraits taken by guywithcamera of South Africans, from ordinary people you meet on the street, to politicians, to celebrities, and everyone in between.
You’re welcome

You wouldn’t think it by looking at me, but I love jewelery. And I own a lot of it. Ranging from cheap, plastic, pretty stuff, to less cheap, pretty stuff.
Here are some stuff I own.
- Bracelets – love greens, blues, browns, and brights
- from pearls, to hearts; from goth cross, to good little christian girl cross
- Earings and rings. Love that ring. Couple of those earings home made by a friend.
- more bracelets (lots of silver) and my never-worn watch i got for my 21st
- My normal everyday wear. I almost never take these off.
This chick named Jessica started following me on twitter, and I checked out her blog and discovered this awesomeness…
Currently I mostly only wear one ring on my finger…like all the time…seriously, I never remove it, but now I’m looking to upgrade it…maybe I’ll pick myself up something from the her store…
Check out even more awesomeness here and do visit her Etsy store.
You’re welcome

Tats. Ink.
Love. Addiction.
I love tattoos, I think I might be addicted. I’m trying to hold off on getting no4 until after my next blood donation. I love donating blood, but if you get a new tattoo you have to wait 6 months before you can donate…I have 2 more months to go.
anyway, here’s no’s 1 – 3.
- No 1: Done at Dragon Tattoos in Stellenbosch
- No 3: Done Sins of Style in Cape Town
- No 2: Done at Steel Chameleon Tattoos in Stellenbosch
(Sorry about the quality of the pics…)
And here are some sites I love to visit to check out other people’s tats:

“Love is the movement, Hope is my hero” -> that’s been my status on whatsApp, skype and GTalk for forever…and it has also featured on BBM, Twitter, and Facebook.
“Love is the movement” is from TWLOHA, which i’ve written about on this site before.
“Hope is my hero” is from hopeismyhero.com, which was launched this week on Monday.
Their tag line -> More Love. More Music…two of my favorite things. How could I not love it right. And I’ve also written a post on the word HOPE, seeing as it’s not only my name, but it is probably my favorite word and the characteristic I most long to embody throughout my life – along with love. I mean, just check out the name of this blog.
Anyway, HIMH “is an alternative bilingual clothing brand that is grounded deep in the heart of the South African music scene”, according to their site. The label was started by JP Erusmas, drummer of Bright Blue City (you might recall me talking about his awesome tats if you read my music blog).
I dig their stuff. I also dig what the label is built upon. Check out what’s it’s about here.
So anyway, if you wanna be my best friend forever, please buy me the black “More Love More Music” t-shirt
and a wristband as well.
Thanks.
And you’re welcome
